NitroEDB and EcoSec
NitroEDB's benefits are made available to EcoSec partners through NitroView ESM. NitroView ESM currently provides two API's that are made available to EcoSec members:
- The NitroSecurity Plugin Protocol (NPP) — an API for transmitting data to NitroView in a format that is easily captured and parsed for storage into NitroEDB.
- The NitroView Core Interface API (CIA) — an API allowing access to NitroEDB for access to all data stored therein.
Benefits of NitroEDB Available via the APIs
In some way, all of NitroEDB's benefits are available in some way through the given APIs. Specific benefits that are most used by EcoSec partners include:
Robust Indexing
- Broad indexing support allows many indices to be maintained. Currently, NitroView ESM supports almost 30 indexed fields on collected data—providing fast search and filtering capabilities.
- Partial Indexing allows the system to index highly specialized fields within a given data source. Other data sources, which do not populate a given index, simply ignore that index. In other words, specialized indexing is provided without a performance impact on the total system.
High Insertion Rates
- More data, from more sources, can be inserted into the system — faster.
- Insertion rates do not impact query performance, allowing the system to accept new data at high rates even while performing higher-level analytics and reporting.
High Query Speeds
- NitroEDB's query speeds are fully utilized through the Core Interface API.
